Electricians are responsible for installing and fixing electrical systems, such as lighting. They need to know how to read blueprints, where to install outlets and circuits, and how to work with wiring. They may install new wiring or repair old wiring.
Entry-level skills: High school diploma or GED; manual dexterity; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; specific training in trade through apprenticeship
