Food service (prep) workers set up food so that it can be ready for chefs to cook it. To prepare the food they may cut it, dice it, or simply have it out and ready. They work in places like cafeterias and restaurants. They may be responsible for maintaining salad bars, condiment stands, and buffets. They also order, store, and organize food, utensils, and equipment.
Entry-level skills: High school diploma or GED recommended; manual dexterity; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; specific training in trade through certificate program to advance
