Medical laboratory technicians run tests on patients to help doctors figure out what illness a patient has. They usually take samples of blood or cells and then put them on a slide to look at under a microscope. They are trying to see if the patient's samples are abnormal. This helps them figure out what kind of disease the patient may have. Lab technicians record the results and send them back to the doctor. They also take care of the laboratory equipment.
